Gluten free – Lactose free – Vegetarian – Vegan
Mandarins covered in chocolate, toasted walnuts and salt flakes
- 4 mandarins
- 300 g vegan 70% cocoa chocolate couverture
- ½ cup walnuts
- 2 tablespoons salt flakes
- Baking or greaseproof paper
Peel the mandarins, removing all the white parts until the wedges are clean.
Chop the walnuts with a knife or a pestle and mortar. In a frying pan over medium high heat add the walnuts until lightly toasted. Set aside on a plate.
Put the chocolate couverture in a bowl in a bain-marie and stir until it melts completely. You can also do it in the microwave in batches for one minute each, making sure to stir, and being careful not to burn it.
Spread one end of each mandarin wedge in the still-warm topping, and then dip in the toasted walnuts. Finish with a few flakes of salt.
Place each slice with chocolate, nuts and salt on a tray with baking paper. Keep cold for 10 minutes before serving.
